Divnick Custom Telescopic Long Putters
Steve Divnick writes, "Long putters are all the rage. They putt straighter. They overcome the yips. They eliminate scuffing the ground. They lower scores."
With the top of the shaft pinned against your chest, the resulting pendulum motion is straight back and through resulting in more consistent scoring. It makes putting so easy some people think they should be banned. But long putters are here to stay.
But as popular and effective as they are, long putters have a big disadvantage: They are difficult to travel with because they don't fit into a travel golf bag.
Telescopic Technology to the Rescue
With a telescopic long putter, there is no need to avoid a long putter or to sacrifice the ideal length because you can't fit it into your travel bag. We have solved that problem with the same proprietary telescopic shaft technology we use for our other telescopic clubs. Our shafts are rock-solid when extended. In fact, on robot testing, they out-perform one-piece shafts.
Shaft Locking Technique: Our shafts are NOT screw-in sections or lever-tightened parts that wobble during the putting motion like some so-called "travel putters". Our shafts interlock based on what is called a "perfect machinist's taper". In other words, the 11-degree angle of the step-rings lock when the shaft is rapidly extended (snapped open), and the two sections become one. The shaft CANNOT be loosened until the grip-end is smacked onto concrete. Our proprietary stainless-steel collapsing cap extends through the end of the shaft. When it is smacked down into concrete, it transfers the impact into the shaft sections and dislodges the machinist's lock. It is very simple to extend and collapse the shaft.
A rock-solid shaft is critical for all clubs, and just as important for the putting stroke even though it is not a shaft-flexing force. Older length-adjusting or telescopic shafts that use mechanisms to try to secure the sections result in a noticeable wobble that interferes with putting confidence. Mechanical tightening devices are designed to be tightened and loosened, so it is no surprise that they lose their ability to lock securely over time. Our shafts are guaranteed to NEVER loosen. They have a lifetime guarantee to always be as solid as day-one, and to always feel like a one-piece shaft.
Custom Lengths: One size does not fit all. That is why these clubs can't be purchased at normal retail golf stores. We will fit your putter to your height and stance. There is an easy way to measure that desired length described below.
Most chest putters are 46" to 52" (116.8 cm to 132 cm) depending on the golfer's height and gripping preferences. We can make your belly or chest putter any length you need up to a maximum of 61 inches (155cm) if you are the center for an NBA team! (There is an additional $20 charge for lengths over 52" because it requires additional cuts and inserts.)
When collapsed, chest putters are approximately 35” (89cm), depending on your desired length, or about the length of a conventional putter. In other words, all our chest length putters are custom made to fit you personally and they easily fit into a travel golf bag.
They are offering a $100 discount if you order THIS MONTH. So this is a great time to get your telescopic long putter and start draining putts with confidence.
